Cookie Policy

Last updated: 28 October 2026. This policy covers cookies and similar browser storage on estuaryconnect.com.

About cookies

Cookies are small files a website places in your browser. Similar technologies can store information in your browser’s local or session storage. They can support essential functions, remember choices or measure how a website is used.

This website

Estuary Connect uses WordPress. Its emoji display feature uses session storage called wpEmojiSettingsSupports to remember whether your browser can display emoji correctly. This stores display-test results and a timestamp, not your name or contact details, and normally clears when the browsing tab or session closes. The enquiry form uses a security token and a server-side rate-limit record which expires after one minute. That record is not a browser cookie.

WordPress administration

The login page can set wordpress_test_cookie to check that cookies work; it lasts for the browser session. Signing in sets WordPress authentication cookies, including wordpress_sec_* and wordpress_logged_in_*. These support secure access and normally last for the session, or up to 14 days if “Remember Me” is selected. wp-settings-* and wp-settings-time-* remember administration preferences for up to a year. A login-language choice can set the session cookie wp_lang. These functions relate to logging in and administration, rather than ordinary browsing of the public pages.

Analytics and advertising

No advertising or separate analytics scripts were identified in checks of the ten main public pages on 28 October 2026, and those page responses did not set HTTP cookies. Our host, IONOS, provides SiteAnalytics using anonymised visitor information from server logs or a tracking pixel; IONOS states that this does not use cookies. This is separate from browser cookies and is described in our privacy policy. If optional tracking is introduced, we will update this policy and obtain consent where required before it runs.

Our social links take you to LinkedIn or Facebook. Those services apply their own privacy and cookie arrangements when you visit them.

Your browser settings

You can use your browser settings to view, block or delete cookies and other stored site data. Blocking essential cookies may prevent you from signing in to services that require them.
